Shard from The Inventory II, 29cm x 40cm
Following the line-finding performance produced in 2015 at Emil Monty Freddie's Studio shot by Alexandre Archimbaud I saved a handful of the fragments which have been living in my folders until now. While I felt that the performance was the piece I never quite had the heart to recycle all that went into the large work's creation.
I recall this fragment referencing the array of colours that came with experiencing road works - and the attire of those working the roads - while traveling in Tokyo in the same year.
My recommendation would be some creative framing with a not so ordinary choice of coloured frame with floating glass and lots of space around the piece. The piece extrudes three dimensionally with the tape curling in the style of a leaf.
